Dusting Procedure:

Rug Dusting is an important part of Area Rug Cleaning. Rugs accumulate a tremendous quantity of dirt and dust. Consequently, most of these elements become embedded in the base of the rug so it is difficult to remove by vacuuming alone.

Importantly, the actual dirt and dust must be taken away before cleaning it with water. It is important to note that using water without dusting it first will cause embedded components to harden within the foundation. This will result to a stiffer rug which will lead to a shorter life-span.

One of the traditional techniques was hanging the rug and pounding it using a carpet beater. The other method would use a cleaning machine which beats the rug automatically. Evidently, both methods could be unhealthy to the rug, deteriorating or ripping its base. These methods are strongly discouraged in order to expand the life of the rug.
